Your child will have the following for homework M-TH (no homework Friday):
20 Minutes of Reading They can read their library books, or anything you have at home. As long as they are reading (even if it is a 1st grade picture book to their sibling) I will be a happy teacher! :) They must log in their agenda what they read and one detail they learned that day.
Math Problems I usually assign anywhere from 2-6 problems on the front of their Math homework page (these are all from the lesson we did that day in class), and all 4 of the questions from their Spiral Review (S.R.) on the back of their math page (these are 3rd/4th grade review problems). They should usually have about 6-10 problems per night, but they are welcome to do more if you wish.
Writing/Choice Board Every Monday they are given a writing prompt page. I expect at least one paragraph. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday they will pick an item from their Choice Board (they’ll keep this in their folder) to complete, which focuses on spelling, vocabulary, and writing.
Signed Agenda Your child will fill out their agenda daily, which needs to be signed. Keep a lookout for any notes I may write to you on the agenda, and please feel free to contact me on there as well.
-Mustang Tickets-
•Mustang tickets will be given for many things, including positive behavior and complete homework.
•Mustang tickets can be “cashed in” for items from our Classroom Store. The “cashed in” tickets will go into our Mustang Ticket Raffle Bucket, for our school wide drawings every Friday.
•Classroom store includes things like: pencils, bookmarks, snacks, homework coupons, art supplies, notepads and books!
•Mustang tickets are used as a school wide PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support) incentive. Each week we have a PBIS focus, and students working hard on these goals will be rewarded with Mustang Tickets by staff.
